What is a Video Portal experience?
Envrmnt’s AR Portal is a way to feature immersive video content in an augmented reality context. From your SDK-powered app, your users can cause a full-size door frame to appear in front of them. Inside this doorway is your immersive video. Users can simply walk through this door and be surrounded by the video. The user can then turn around and see the same doorway leading back to reality.
|Because this is a beta version, an incomplete template experience may cause functional issues with our SDK and Envrmnt app. To create a complete experience, you need to upload an .mp4 video file.|
You must already be logged in to Envrmnt Creator. See Getting Started if you need more help.
You’ll start at the Create New tab, found on the top bar of the AR Designer screen.
From the list of available templates on the left side bar, select “Portal - True Space.” Then click Start when it appears.
The AR Designer editor screen appears. You are now editing a Portal AR experience.
- At the top of the left panel, you see the name of the experience. We name it for you to get started (in this case, “Untitled Video”), but of course you can change the name to whatever you want.
- Below the name on the left, you see the functional components of this template: 360/180 Video and Camera.
- On the main screen, you see the workspace and get an idea of what your AR experience would look on a mobile device. It is empty when you start, but it will update as you make changes.
