What is a Video Portal experience?
Envrmnt’s AR Portal is a way to feature immersive video content in an augmented reality context. From your SDK-powered app, your users can cause a full-size door frame to appear in front of them. Inside this doorway is your immersive video. Users can simply walk through this door and be surrounded by the video. The user can then turn around and see the same doorway leading back to reality.
- You must already be logged in to Envrmnt Creator. See Getting Started if you need more help.
Go to either the home screen or choose the Create New tab on the top bar. You will see the templates we provide for creating experiences. Select the AR True Space filter at the top right.
From the list of available templates, select “Portal.”
The Envrmnt Creator editor screen appears. You are now editing a Portal experience.
- At the top of the left panel, you see the name of the experience. We name it for you to get started (in this case, “Untitled Video”), but of course you can change the name to whatever you want.
- Below the name on the left, you see the functional components of this template: 360/180 Video and Camera.
- On the main screen, you see the workspace and get an idea of what your AR experience would look on a mobile device. It is empty when you start, but it will update as you make changes.
