Buttons can link your AR experience to web pages and other URLs you wish to promote, such as an e-commerce page, a product page, or a YouTube video. You can provide just one link or many. Of course they are optional.

In addition to linking to a web URL or deep link, these buttons can also open email to send or dial the phone to the address or number provided. For email, enter mailto:user@email.com. For phone, enter tel:XXXYYYZZZZ |
The Buttons component is available in selected templates, and is typically at the bottom of the left side panel. Click on it to open.
Select the type of button you want.
- Text buttons are typical “lozenge” shapes with text inside.
- Image buttons include a small thumbnail with a text description below.
Text Buttons
There are no buttons when you start a new experience. Click on the Add + button to create a new button, and a pale green “card” appears for that button.
You can select Add + again and again to create a carousel of buttons.
- Every button is labeled “Button Title” by default. You will probably want to change this label to something more useful. To do this, click on the name at the top of the card and an edit cursor will appear. Delete or type over the old text for your new label.
- A button is useless unless you give it a link. Enter an appropriate URL or URI in this field (including the protocol, “https://” for example). Once entered, you can test the link by clicking on the Test button that appears after the link.
Image Buttons
To use image buttons instead, select Images at the top of the Buttons component. You can Add + only one or many button cards, similar to Text buttons. Also similar to Text, you can add a URL or URI for each button, and you can also edit the text that appears with it.
Unlike Text, you can upload an image file here to create a more visual impression for your link.
Upload an image file in either of two ways
- Click on the upload icon above Upload an image to open your computer’s file system. Browse to the image file you want and then click Open.
- Open your computer’s file system and find the image file you want to upload. Then drag that file from the system browser to the image area in the Button component to begin the upload process.
Scale and position your image. The image you uploaded doesn’t need to be square, but the image buttons must be square. You can adjust how to best crop the image by clicking and dragging the image around. You can also zoom in on the image up to 2x, if you want to focus on a certain part of the image.
Update! After you have uploaded your button image, and after you have adjusted how it is cropped, you must click on the Update button for it to take affect (and appear in your workspace). Skip this step and your changes might be lost.
